The Throat Chakra is the fifth Chakra of the 7 Chakras.
It is located in the throat area and is associated with expression and communication. It is represented by the color blue.
When the Throat Chakra is balanced, it will allow you to openly communicate your feeling, thoughts and words without hesitation. When the Throat Chakra is blocked, it is quite the opposite. You may become shy, hold your feelings in, and be afraid to speak your mind. Physically it is related to problems with your Thyroid, Brachial Cervix, and arms.

In order to keep the Throat Chakra balanced, you need to be open and honest with yourself. It is also best to not use “ill” words towards others. If you feel the need to open up a little, wear a blue scarf around your neck. If are worried about talking to someone, eat blueberries to keep the lines of communication open. Turquoise or aquamarine stones, as well as sage and frankincense stimulate and awaken this Chakra.
The absolute best way to balance the Throat Chakra is to sing. It really doesn’t matter if you can carry a tune or not. Sing loudly when you’re alone and use all of your power!
Questions to ask yourself to see if your Throat Chakra is balanced.
- Do you experience multiple sore throats yearly?
- Are you shy in a crowd?
- Do you have difficulty speaking your mind?
- Do you often experience pain in your arms?
- Do you worry what people are thinking of you?
If you can answer Yes to more than 2 of these questions, your Throat Chakra needs to be balanced.
