There are 7 major energy centers, or Chakras, within the human body located along the spine. Each corresponds to different parts of the nervous system. It is believed that when you experience pain, illness, or disease, your body is out of balance. This imbalance creates a blockage of energy in the Chakras. The first of the 7 Chakras is known as the Root Chakra. It is represented by the color red. Located at the base of your spine, the Root Chakra is associated with all the physical senses of the body. The Sacral Chakra is the second of the 7 Chakras. It is represented by the color orange. Also referred to as the Spleen Chakra, it is located between the area of your naval and pelvis. The Sacral Chakra is directly associated with how you relate to other people. This includes the love one has for the opposite sex, as well as sexual energy. The Solar Plexus Chakra is the third of the 7 Chakras. Located below your sternum and over the stomach, the Solar Plexus Chakra is the power and ego center of your body. It is represented by the color yellow. Ideally this Chakra is associated with categorizing, separating, planning, and organizing your life. The sixth Chakra of the 7 Chakras, is the Brow Chakra. It is also known as the “Third Eye.” It is located in the middle of your forehead and represented by the color indigo. This Chakra is associated with intuition. It is said the the Third Eye is the center of psychic powers. [Read more...]
The last of the 7 Chakras, the Crown Chakra, is located in the top middle of your head. This Chakra deals with the ability to connect with your higher power. In a sense, it is your connection to spirituality. It is represented by the color violet. [Read more...]
